U.S. struggling after draw against Panama
Panama defeats U.S. 2-1 in Copa América group play
ATLANTA -- The United States men's national team was held to a 0-0 draw by Panama in a Copa América group stage match on Thursday night.
The U.S. had a number of chances to score, but could not find the back of the net. Panama goalkeeper Luis Mejía made several key saves, including a diving stop on a shot by Jozy Altidore in the second half.
The draw leaves the U.S. with just one point from two matches in Group C. Panama has four points from two matches, while Brazil has six points from two matches.
The U.S. will face Brazil on Sunday in its final group stage match. The U.S. must win that match in order to have a chance to advance to the knockout round.
